UPDATE - 7/23/2017Moving my car back into the garage has been significantly delayed, and fortunately, this cover has survived a total of 3 years. It has been continuously exposed to outdoor weather (plus sunlight and storms) since Aug 2014. It is definitely now showing signs of age and wear. Top shows sun damage and some holes have developed at points where winds have caused the cover to rub against metal edges. I think strapping the cover down with bungees and clamps helped this cover last as long as it did with windy conditions. I feel the material has clearly demonstrated it is tear resistant. Upgraded from 4 to 5 stars.ORIGINAL REVIEW - Aug 23, 2015I purchased the 229" size to cover my (as-yet) unrestored 1950 Chevy, so we could park it in our driveway. It is bigger than I needed, but custom fit was not my primary concern. I needed the width. The car has been out there, covered for about a year now. The cover is still doing fine. When shopping for car covers, I was concerned by some reviews that said this one lacked durability. Some said it tore fairly easily and severe weather was a problem for other reviewers. Some of these reviews said the cover did not last 6 months. Reviewers seemed to disagree on the meaning of the term "weatherproof". Some reviewers said they were satisfied.I am happy to report this car cover has met my expectations and in some ways exceeded them. It has weathered a year of direct sunlight and survived. There is only one small tear in the cover right at the bumper. (I discovered this was because the bumper is rusting and at that spot the chrome plating is flaking off and is quite sharp. It created a 3" tear, but the cover has not continued to rip apart.)Because of the negative reviews, I expended considerable effort anchoring the car cover. I used the grommet holes and ran bungee cords under the car to assure the car cover would stay in place in a severe storm. I also used tarp clamps with bungee cords in spots where there were no grommets. When I used tarp clamps, I used scrap cloth to protect the cover from the clamps. (In retrospect, all this may not have been necessary, but at the time I felt -- better to invest that time preparing for the worst... than not to, and wish I had.)We have had several severe storms in the past 12 months, and a recent one knocked down several trees on our property. I have never had to tend to the car, the cover, or its anchoring during this time.As far as how well this cover has protected the car, I cannot yet say. I have not taken the cover off to look at the car. However, that day is coming and I hope to update my review with those results.Bottom line... I feel this car cover provides good value for the money. I would buy it again.
