Product Description

Each Fishman Fluence pickup has two distinct and useful sounds on-board. These sounds start with the revolutionary Fluence Core, the heart of Fluence tone. From this Fluence Core we then create the classic timbres and tone -; colors you expect from great guitar pickups -; as well as some you've never expected. Active electronics deliver classic tone - without the noise We all love the sound of vintage pickups. That being said, buzz and inductance issues leave a bit to be desired. With Fishman Fluence Classic Humbucker pickups, you can run hundreds of feet of guitar cable without any quality loss. Your volume control will operate with unprecedented smoothness, allowing you to milk useful sounds out of your guitar, even at low settings. To call these pickups "noiseless" would be a grand understatement! Multi-voice Fluence Classic provides two distinct voices The Fluence Classic provides you with the choice of two unique, selectable voices. The Fluence Classic Humbucker pickup's first voice is reminiscent of a vintage PAF pickup. Plug into your amp and treat yourself to that familiar sweet warmth, accented by clear and present articulation. The second voice invokes a hot-rodded humbucker, with its muscular, beefy, overwound tone. Don't worry, both voices deliver the unmistakable humbucker sound! The voices can be accessed by any number of standard switches or push/pull controls and can be added as a completely reversible modification to most guitars. Power supply delivers 200+ hours of use Offering 200+ hours of playing time, Fishman Fluence pickups also fully recharge in a matter of a few hours by using a standard USB charger. These pickups utilize either a standard 9V battery, or you can use the optional Fluence battery pack. These battery packs screw onto your guitar in place of the control or spring cover, requiring no modifications to your instrument.

It's not easy to write a review about these pickups. There's lots of positive hype around these, and it makes you look like you've jumped onto a bandwagon when you like them as well. So take this review however you'd like, but know that i've been playing guitar over 15 years and can actually play more than the intro to Holy Diver and Metallica riffs. These pickups are really impressive. They're clear, dynamic, noise free, & versatile... Just have realistic expectations. If you have a crappy little solid state amp or modeler you will not experience their tone to the fullest. Not only that, but pickup swaps don't suddenly make your amp into a whole new amp. They don't make up for having a mediocre amplifier (or mediocre playing skills for that matter). So to all the newbies out there, invest in a quality amp before you decide to swap out your pickups.I'm very impressed with these. They can do rock, high gain metal, clean music. All the voices are very useful and sound gorgeous. I normally tune to standard or drop D. I'm using them on a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 Extreme FR . I plug into a variety of different amps and software inlcuding Blackstar, Guitar Rig 5, Bias FX, Neural DSP, Bugera, etc.. I'm thrilled with how these sound. The cleans are clear and sparkly, and distorted tones are GREAT. They can do metal, classic rock or just about anything you throw at them. I'm very impressed. They feel like passive pickups . But sound better (in my opinion) and are quieter.Keep a few things in mind though. These are actives and need a 9 volt battery or a battery pack. Second, the wiring instructions are limited on the Fluence website.. If you have limited experience with wiring pickups, you might struggle to wire them in. You can email Fishman but they may not be able to help you if you have a unique wiring situation. They got a few basic wiring diagrams up, but they're very limited in comparison to Dimarzio who has hundreds of different wiring diagrams. You can always have them installed by a pro, if you're willing to spend the additional money. One last tiny thing, the pot shafts on these are a little thicker so you MIGHT need to widen the pot holes in your guitar to fit them. You can could always use active alpha pots or EMG pots, since those are thinner and may fit without any mods to your guitar. These are all just things to consider. For some it may not be worth the hassle. I bought these on sale($150), and I installed them myself so i'm MORE than happy with my purchase. There's nothing else like these out there. Some come close but don't match how good these are
