So far this cover has been an awesome addition to our hot tub experience. It kills a few birds with the one stone - 1. It enables my small 8 year old daughter the ability to lift the cover off the hot tub AND put it back on. She loves feeling helpful and being able to contribute in those types of ways, and it is easily accomplished with the aid of the lift. 2. It adds a huge amount of privacy to our hot tub area. On the west side of the hot tub we have a pool which blocks the view of us in our tub from our neighbors and because the lift holds the cover roughly 1.5 feet above the edge of the hot tub, and it's mounted on the east side of the tub we are blocked from the east in the same way. 3. It also blocks the breeze / wind. As I said the lift holds the cover roughly 1.5 feet above the edge of the hot tub so we are blocked from the easterly winds in the same way. This is especially nice in the colder months.
