I thought the plates were 91/2 inches! They are what I wanted-but not 8 inches. I read where it said 91/2 inch plates. A little expensive for what they were. I’LL KEEP THEM.The plates are sturdy and easy to clean which is a huge plus for me. A tad on the expensive size for 4 plates in my opinion. I do wish they had more color options due to the fact I have 2 boys and they are not fans of purple. The only reason for the 4 star is due to the price. ThanksUpdate:I am getting ready to purchase another set of these plates due to finding other color options now. I would like to add a comment for others who are looking to purchase these. Be careful with cutting up meats on these plates. I love that they clean up extremely easy and can go in the microwave but I have found that cutting up my kids meat on the plate leaves the plate scarred. I am using my basic dinner knives to cut the meats but it doesnt take much pressure to cut into the plates. I am now cutting up the meats before serving on the plate to avoid any more damage. I do like these enough to buy another set though. :)These are the most fabulous plates! They last forever! I have had a set of 8 before ordering these. They are as perfect today as they were when we bought them 5 years ago. They are wonderful for re-heating food as the plate itself never gets hot, unlike melamine plates. These are perfect for homes with kids as they are indestructible!!! I only bought more to have a variety in color! Can be used for breakfast, lunch and dinner and everything in between! Can't say enough good things about these plates!!!I have a set of these plates that are about 10 years old (blue) and they still are in great shape (we use them daily, in the microwave and run them through the dishwasher). I recently bought a set of the purple as I wanted more. Yes, they're pricey ($27 directly through Tupperware.com), but they are lightweight, versatile, and last forever.I bought a set if these for $19.90 (the other reviewer added wrong...they are NOT $8 per plate) and after receiving the new plates I was so thrilled that I immediately tossed out the old blue ones I've had for 20 years that were all scratched up and pieces of blue flecks would get into our food if we used knives on them. And then I ordered a second set of the pretty purple plates. LOVE THEM. Great price too!They are light and easy to wash, and they will not break easily, but in spite of being pricey, they scratch from sharp knives too easily and one quickly warped a little from hot food straight from a rice cooker. Also, they are advertised as "Microwave-safe plates" but they have warped so easily and severely in a microwave that I'm now very reluctant to use them in a microwave.These work as advertised, even in the lower rack of the dishwasher. They scratch easily. I love the color, but wish they came in a larger size.We really like these. I just wish they came in better colors. Purple isn't in our kitchen décor at all! But they're still very functional, light weight and easy to wash!
