I have been making bacon in the microwave for years as it is so easy, hands off and is done way quicker than any other cooking method. Our old bacon tray was getting gross so I ordered this double microwave bacon cooker to replace it. Our old tray wasn't a double so I was really curious how this new one would do. I love it! I can get way more bacon done with each round in the microwave. For my test run, I used thick cut bacon. It overhung the edges a little but that happened with our old tray too. You just need to push the ends under the edge of the tray/lid since the bacon shrinks while cooking anyway. The cooking time seems to be the same whether a single layer tray or a double: 1 minute cooking time per full strip of bacon. I got 8 strips (4 on each layer) into the tray and microwaved it for 8 minutes and the bacon was perfect. The handles on the sides did not get hot so the tray was easy to remove from the microwave. I wasn't entirely sure how to take off the top tray as not all the fat drained down to the bottom and the tray was hot. I ended up just using a fork to move it onto a plate. Overall, this tray works as described, seems well constructed but maybe just a tad awkward getting that top tray off when done cooking.
