I called a technician who came and charged me $125 to troubleshoot my combination GE microwave/convection oven That was only working on the convection part but not the microwave. It broke about a month after my warranty expired. He replaced a couple of switches he thought might be bad but that didn’t fix the problem so he said it abbad magnetron and would cost about $450 counting parts and labor to fix my microwave. He said he would subtract $125 house call off that price if I decided to do it which made it $325. I thanked him and told him I would just buy a new microwave. But after watching YouTube videos on how easy it was to replace the magnetron I went on Amazon and bought the magnetron For less than $80 and had my son-in-law help me take the oven off from under the cabinets because it’s pretty heavy, and spent probably 20 minutes taking the microwave apart, replacing the magnetron, and putting it back together again! Tested it OK, and my son n-law came over we installed it back under the cabinet again. I finally have a microwave that works. We were going outside to my Travel Trailer to use the microwave for over two years. Now, I bought a three year warranty so if it happens again I’ll have someone else do all the work.?
