After 10 years, our huge built-in, over-the-stove Kitchen-Aid microwave crapped out on us last Christmas morning. We quickly realized how much we used it when we were forced to go without for a couple of weeks. We needed something at least for basic re-heat ability, so that we weren't forced to buy another big unit right away, giving us ample time to shop for just the right over-the-stove replacement, since those built-in units are NOT cheap.This little microwave works great and takes up very little of our limited countertop space. The controls took some getting used to, but were by no means a show-stopper; we just had to adjust to how it operates. The smaller internal cooking space and 30% less power were what gave the biggest issues. We've transitioned well after a couple of months of "live & learn". I've read some negative reviews from other folks here but, so far, this Farberware compact microwave oven has given us ZERO problems and, after almost 4 months, continues to perform like a little champ.
