The finish was very nice for the covers. They were slightly oversized for my posts but I don't necessarily consider that a deal killer since wood posts can vary from post to post. I did not want these to move around so I replaced the screws that secured the halves together with longer screws that I screwed into the post to hold the cover so that it would not move.
