Perfect fit for a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 HD SLE 6.0 L Vortec. The drain plug at the bottom makes fluid changes easy. Although the newer GM HD axles (Sierras or Silverados) come with a drain plug, you'll have two in a sense. The top has a fill plug/dipstick. When filling the fluid, you get a precise reading of the oil level. The sight hole in the center is for looking through the cover and its basically the stock fluid level indicator. This cover allowed for 7 quarts to be added, I have an extra one still, but haven't put it in. It means that the cover could hold up to 8 quarts when the stock cover only held about 3. The only issue I have with this cover is that the e-brake line and brake line brackets will not bolt onto this cover as they did with the stock. You'll have to secure them with something else. As far as putting this cover on, its pretty straight forward. The tools I used were an air impact ratchet wrench, sockets, ratchets, torque wrench, gasket scraper, and a drain pan. I went the extra mile when putting this cover on, I used a bottle jack on each side of the axle to let more of the dirty fluid to come out of the tubes. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase. I put this cover on after breaking in the rear axle at about 500 miles.
