Let me start by saying that I have a thing for factory accessories. I bought a used 2017 Rav4 and the original owner did not opt for the tonneau cover. The vehicle comes with ‘security’ tint and it really is hard to see in the back of the storage area to start with, but I like to travel and wanted the extra security the cover provides. I’ve read other reviews and here’s my takeaway: this is a genuine Toyota part, it was shipped in a Toyota/Lexus box and does not appear to have been repacked, so I’m confused at reviewers that have questioned whether or not this was the real deal. It fits perfectly in the vehicle. There was also another reviewer who complained that the material was ‘thin’. Well it’s a cover and not a parcel shelf. I never bought this with the intention of placing items on the top of it, that would defeat the purpose. Also be aware that this does not cover the entire storage space, if you look in the back of your vehicle you will see where the cover attaches in the trunk area and you will see a gap between the back seats and where the back of the cover attaches. That’s because the back seats tilt back and the space allows for that. Otherwise the seats couldn’t be reclined with the cover installed. This does not in any way detract from the functionality of this item. The cover provides another option of using the storage area of the vehicle, and stores neatly out of the way in the spare tire well when not needed, so you don’t have to have another thing hanging around in your garage/house. This seller was top notch and the item arrived quickly with zero issues. The price was right for me to make my already versatile ‘new’ addition to the family even more versatile. If you have a need, this item is highly recommended.
