fragle broke one side but works well bought a replacementThis is a great microwave tool. Just ignore the instructions that say cook four potatoes for 18 minutes in a microwave. They'd have to be huge to take that long to cook. I'm reading Penn jillette's Presto! right now so I'm eating a lot of potatoes. Penn liked a variety of potatoes baked, boiled and steamed in a variety of ways. Not me. I'm always in a hurry and it took me three days to find out what I like: Medium sized yellow potatoes skewered on this thing for 6 minutes to 6 and a half minutes. Let them cool for 5 minutes and fall in love. Easy food, delicious, nutritious and satisfying food, easy clean up. Just remember, 4 medium potatoes shouldn't take more than seven minutes tops in the microwave and when they're smallish 5 and a half minutes is enough. In any case, if you love nuked potatoes, you're going to love this handy dandy microwave tater baker.I like the Microwavable Potato Baker w/a handle. Make sure to use a mitt especially if baking one potato. Not the same as my tupperware will do for now.Despite being a passive spikey spud cradle; I will ensure that your starches are cooked delightfully well.I promise to last a long time as long as you don't abuse me with temps higher than expected.I will microwave...not oven bake your taters faithfully every time.I like this product because it microwaves the potato evenly throughout. I purchaed one several years ago. The old one was made of more substantial material. The handle on this one is not as secure as the older model. It is flimsy.I love this product I own it, I got one for one of my sisters and she loved it we had them for years. The two I purchased recently is for my son and another of my sisters. She love it also, after using mine I got her one of her own:) These can be used for sweet potatoes too, which is good for us.feels a little cheap but worksWell designed (with one exception) and does what it was designed to do. Each arm has two spikes to skewer the potato in place and be warned they are VERY sharp. Clean them as you would a knife blade and all should be wellThe one exception which cost it a 5 star rating is that the handle locks (or should lock) into the centre. It turns in the key slot but remains loose and wobbly and not ideal if you are walking your spuds from microwave to plate. As it is, the arms are wide enough and stay cool enough to carry it that way so it works and the handle has been put in a drawer. You do have the option of glueing it in place but that is not really the point.Great for the spuds shame about the handleI ummed and aahed over whether to be positive or negative over this.On the debit side, it's as cheap to behold as its price would suggest, its thin and brittle-looking plastic doesn't inspire confidence in its longevity, and it topples over dramatically if only one spud is spiked. On the credit side, provided you are baking more than one potato, it allows you to spend the next 10-12 minutes doing other things, as it bakes the potatoes thoroughly and evenly, without having to unspike, turn and then respike them half-way through cooking, unlike many other different designs of microwave potato bakers require. In the end, and as it does exactly what I bought it to do, for a very low price, the positive won out. With the reservations I've listed, five stars would be OTT, but it deserves four for the perfect, unattended baking of even quite large potatoes. Just brace yourself for the unimpressive visual aspect when you open the packet, and remember to handle it with care.I've had one of these a long time ago, and was pleased to find them on sale again. Does a great job without the potato/es getting a hard crust on the bottom when cooking through the microwave. However, the handle on this one has now broken after a couple of weeks. Still OK to use it, just need to be careful getting it out of the microwave.absolutely brilliant thing to cook jacket potatoes in micro brilliant even all round cooking ??????One star for nice robust packaging...no stars for product. Junk.White plastic junk from China. Badly moulded.Carrier didn't / couldn't fit the base making the product useless. Not even worth the effort of returning it....it went straight into the bin. Absolute rubbish.
