Really cool but I wish the holes were smaller and lid snapped into place to easily drainOn those days where you want your kids to be self reliant because you don't want to make a full meal of pasta, this is great to use. I showed my son how to use this and he can make himself a serving on his own whenever he is hungry between meals.My wattage is higher than that on the box for timing so I subtracted a minute and had perfect pasta in 9 minutes with very little water to drain. Done al dente!Elegantly designed to fit in my 0.9 cubic microwave. I cook whole-wheat pasta al dente by following the instructions. I do a little math to figure out I would need 8m54s for my 900W microwave (instead of 10m for 800W) to cook 120g of pasta with 300ml of "salty" water. This thing is not cheap for a reason: it works beautifully.comes with a chart showing different types of pasta and how long and much water needed to cook. just put the pasta and water in, place in microwave and enter time. in a little more than ten minutes you have pasta. now i need a way to cook the sauce at the same time. there is one problem, it does not hold the heat long so your hot pasta gets cold quickly. but, easy to warm pasta back up. i would definitely buy again.Good productI wish I wasn’t so torn on this product because I really wanted it to work. FYI you need to flip the silicone lid to drain the pasta, it’s fairly intuitive but the instructions aren’t very clear. The last 2 to 3 times I have needed to microwave the pasta twice as long as is recommended because my microwave is just a millimeter too small and the device jumps off the microwave plate. Annoying, babysitting a convenience product. Make sure you stir the pasta halfway in time. I can get over that but I have lost half of my pasta into my sink when draining even if I’m super careful about holding the boiling hot plastic to drain the pasta. Handles would be helpful. I just now lost half of a box of suddenly salad into my sink. I’m not saying I lost gold or anything but what a waste of time and babysitting when I just wanted quick pasta for work. If I have to use a separate strainer then I could use a different, preferably glass or ceramic all purpose dish instead and use a colander like everyone usually does. Bottom line I don’t find that I save time or frustration with this product. It is convenient to microwave the pasta but tbh you could do that in another dish.Easy to use. Set my 1100w microwave at 70% to cook at 800w. Took the whole wheat thin spaghetti and added to a pan with grape tomatoes cooked down on olive oil and basil - then added tuna. Perfect quick light dinner.Tras dos usos lo he devuelto. Lo compre para intentar facilitar una de las tareas mas faciles de la cocina, que es cocer pasta, y obviamente logre el efecto contrario. Este utensilio resulta bastante mas incomodo que el metodo tradicional de olla y escurridor, y aunque resutase igual de comodo, no ahorraria tiempo.Tras los 10-12 minutos necesarios de calentamiento en el micro, el recipiente alcanza bastante temperatura, por lo que no puedes manipularlo directamente con las manos. Tienes que usar un paño o unas manoplas (necesitaras las dos manos), lo cual dificulta su manejo, ya que es relativamente voluminoso e incomodo de manejar. Esto nos lleva al principal inconveniente, que es su funcion de escurridor: la tapa es de silicona blanda y no se encaja, queda suelta en el recipiente, por lo que al darle la vuelta para escurrir (la tapa tiene rendijas) debes sujetarla bien (recordemos, con un paño o dos manoplas, lo cual sin tener que preocuparse de sujetar la tapa ya es incomodo). Y aun asi al ser de silicona blanda, si lo sacudes un poco se mueve por la parte que no estes sujetando y se sale todo el contenido (2 raciones de pasta, no me quiero imaginar si lo hicieses con el doble). Y todo esto procurando que no se derrame sobre tu piel el agua hirviendo. Finalmente habras ensuciado dos utensilios: el recipiente de plastico y la tapa de silicona, al igual que si hubiees usado la olla y el escurridor, asi que por esa parte tampoco hay ventajas.Para rematar este desproposito, en las instrucciones destaca otra de sus supuestas ventajas, que a mi sencillamente me resulto surrealista: incluyes todos los ingredientes (el agua, la pasta y la salsa o lo que sea que le vayas a echar) directamente desde el principio, lo metes al micro y al sacarlo el plato estara preparado. Eso es sencillamente absurdo. Imaginemos pasta con salsa de tomate. Echo los macarrones, medio litro de agua... y el tomate entre todo el agua? Y la parte de escurrir el agua donde queda? Se supone que ya tendras practica y sabras la cantidad y el tiempo exactos para que no haya que escurrir ni una gota d agua, pero aun asi dudo del resultado de haber echado todo junto al principio. Me imagino haciendo esto en la olla y me entra la risa.A parte de ser completamente inutil al dificultar una tarea ya de por si tremendamente sencilla y rapida, me parece bastante caro para lo que es: 20€ por un recipiente de plastico (perdon, Polipropileno) y una pieza de silicona. Y sobre todo tampoco tengo claro que no se consiga exactamente lo mismo calentando la pasta en el microondas dentro de cualquier otro recipiente.En resumen, un engañabobos de manual: compras algo especifico e innovador confiando en que te facilitara la vida, y consigues un resultado peor que como lo hacias antes. Despues puedes engañarte y pensar que mejora lo inmejorable, dejarlo olvidado en lo mas alto del armario (estorba bastante, querras tenerlo lejos), o asumir el error (que gracias a Amazon no es tal) y devolverlo como hice yo.Me ha gustado mucho su simpleza. Hay que controlar bien los tiempos cada vez que hagas una pasta diferente, puesto que realmente los tiempos que te indica Lekué son orientativos para microondas de 800w.MUY IMPORTANTE --> A la hora de escurrir la pasta la tapa marrçón se coloca al revés para que no se te caiga la pasta ni te puedas quemar. No more waiting for the water to boil, putting the pasta into the water, stirring, waiting 9-11 minutes...... This does it in a matter of a few minutes. The excess water can be drained through the holes in the lid & then just tip the pasta into your bowl. It's easy to clean, doesn't take up much cupboard space, & looks sturdy enough to last a very long time. Excellent!Followed instructions and pasta cooked perfectly. So easy- put pasta in, add water and microwave, stand for 2 mins and serve. Robust product and really easy to clean. Only reason not given 5 stars is that if you cook spaghetti using the drain function results in some pasta spilling out. Won’t be a problem for any other type of pasta. Not a major issue as can drain another way. Would recommend.
