My mom had one of these when I was a kid, for various purposes. I've used it for stiff muscles. Bear in mind, this is a two-fisted massager. You can set it on its side and lean into it. For the things I've used it for, it's been excellent. Say, for instance, you have Morton's Neuroma, or some other foot ailment, (this isn't for surgery or anything, this is just an example), you can run it over your foot and ankle area, it scrambles nerve impulses. The pain is gone, the nerves don't even know how to interpret it. They're just, "What... hit me?" This is just one application. Another, think of a jacuzzi, hot tub, jets. Kinda relaxing, right? This is that, with a vengeance. Ply it against stiff muscles after a workout, and it just thrums them out of existence. This is one of those kinds of products that's difficult to describe in words. More that you have to experience, as it's tactile. Affects the body structurally, instead of audio/visual. As the other reviewer said, it's durable. I had one for about 20 years before buying a replacement. I do recommend the wool padding.This is really a great product. I know, it seems like you're running a car buffer over your body. It's industrial grade.Anyway, that's my two bits on it. Love this thing.
